Journey Home is a 6 bed community based long-term housing outpatient facility for adult males under the authority of the Alberta Review Board and Forensic Assessment Community Services Not Criminally Responsible Outpatient Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Interact with, observe, and document resident behaviour, progress or deterioration
  • Completion of accurate written daily documentation (log book entries, contact notes, incident reports, medication book entries)
  • Advocating and supporting clients during their residency
  • Deliver services in a client centered, strength based approach per unit philosophy
  • Obtain/maintain positive working relationships with external agencies
  • Liaise with AHS Treatment Team, EPS, program providers and agency funders
  • Adapt services to meet the needs of diverse populations as per unit policy
  • Attend and participate in Mandatory Quarterly Meetings

Qualifications / Skills:

  • Some post-secondary required
  • Able to work shift work including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts
  • Clear Criminal Record Check, Enhanced Reliability Screening and Standard First Aid and CPR
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a mental health population

Conditions of Employment:

Part-Time Shift Workers must be available to work days, evenings, overnights, statutory holidays and weekends. Shifts are from 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, and 11pm to 7am (overnight awake shifts). Applicants must be available to work a minimum of 6 shifts per month, 2 of which may be overnight.

Hourly Wage:

The starting hourly wage for this position is $17, plus a $2 shift differential between the hours of midnight and 6am.
