Family Time Coordinator

Norwood Child & Family Resource Centre

This listing has expired

Norwood Child & Family Resource Centre provides programs that strengthen and enrich the lives of children and parents in the Edmonton area.  Programs are delivered using a holistic approach to support the emotional, physical and intellectual needs of children and families in the community. Family Time is a leading edge Program developed in partnership with Ubuntu and Norwood.

The Ubuntu Children and Families program was created two years ago to deliver groundbreaking services to vulnerable children, youth, and families in Northeast Edmonton. The C5 partnership, the creators of Ubuntu (composed of Boyle Street Community Services, Bent Arrow, Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers, Norwood Child and Family Resource Centre, and Terra Centre), had a vision for a new type of cutting edge service delivery model that could be provided by working together.

The Ubuntu approach leverages a network of partner agencies and Children’s Services to create customized support for children, youth, and families in North East Edmonton. Together we determine the root causes of a family’s issues, and then identify flexible, culturally competent, community-based supports and services to help the family be healthy and stay together. Always we are guided by Ubuntu’s core philosophy: the importance of the voice of persons served in decision making and goal setting.
