Norwood Child and Family Resource Centre is an Edmonton based non-profit organization that has been supporting children and families since 1963, with a vision of Healthy Children, Healthy Families, Healthy Communities. Our programs and services are designed to strengthen and enrich families with children birth – 5 years old. The Administration Supervisor is responsible for the oversight and supervision of the Administrative Assistant and Administrative/Communications Assistant to ensure accuracy, efficiency and overall support of Administrative operations.  The Administration Supervisor also is the primary contact for IT support and troubleshooting.

This position requires a flexible work schedule that includes evenings to 6:30 pm approximately once per week, and very occasional evenings to 8:15 pm.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Administrative Supervisor is responsible for the following:

  • Training and coaching staff by providing regular supervision, observing performance, recognizing successes, and providing feedback including annual reviews.
  • Coordinating schedules and activities within Administration, assigning and tracking administration requests through Outlook task list
  • Reviewing and evaluating administrative services to ensure staff and participant needs are met
  • Supporting staff as the primary contact for IT support by actively troubleshooting problems, and maintaining user accounts and requests
  • Providing oversight for the organization and inventory of promotional materials, office supplies, and equipment in both the filing room and the server room
  • Compiling and entering necessary data and documentation into agency and collaborative data systems while maintaining accurate, timely and complete electronic and paper files

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Certificate in Office Administration or an equivalent program
  • Minimum 2 years’ supervisory experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a busy administrative environment
  • Experience providing minor IT support and troubleshooting
  • Advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Publisher), database systems and Adobe Publishing applications (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.) 
  • Criminal Record Check and Child Welfare Intervention Record Check (findings will be reviewed on a case by case basis)

The following qualifications are considered an asset:

  • Working knowledge of Office 365

The starting hourly range for this role is $24.25 – $27.28 per hour ($44,135.00 – $49,649.60 per year) based on a 35-hour week.
