The Edmonton Drug Treatment Court Service program is a community-based treatment case management support service to the participants of the Edmonton Drug Treatment Court, Provincial Court of Alberta. Working together with a multidisciplinary team, the Drug Treatment Court program provides intensive judicial supervision of community treatment case management for individuals who are involved in the criminal justice system as a result of offences committed to support their drug addiction. The program works in partnership with multiple community service providers, organizations, and agencies.

The Intake Coordinator position requires ongoing professional interaction with justice partners, internal and external community stakeholders, ongoing interaction with program clients. The holder of this position will have the ability to interact with all partners and program clients on a professional level, understands the importance of transparent team dynamics, displays a high level of boundaries combined with empathy, and will work towards long term advancement opportunities as they arise within the program team.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and coordinate assessment and intake of new applicants/observers to the program
  • Friendly and professional greeting of all clients, staff, and stakeholders
  • Complete accurate case notes and documentation in a timely manner
  • Compile and track data, statistics, and other information
  • Liaise with multiple community service providers
  • Operate transparently in a team dynamic in all aspects of client care and progress
  • Professionally manage the supervision of multiple clients while completing ongoing program duties
  • Support the administration of drug analysis testing
  • Overall responsibility for main office area; answering main office phone line and directing calls
  • Attend and participate in case conferences, unit/agency meetings and agency committees
  • Ensure compliance of program and agency policies
  • Support all other team positions on an ongoing basis as required
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive workplace culture
  • Deliver services in compliance with Drug Treatment Court standards and principles

Qualifications / Skills:

  • Diploma or Degree in a criminal justice related discipline
  • Experience working with the criminal justice population, working with persons with a drug addiction and understanding the complexities of how they are intertwined
  • Experience working with multi-barriered individuals and diverse populations
  • Contributes to overall agency mission, vision, and values
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Demonstrates professionalism within all aspects of employment
  • Understanding of addictions, mental health, and the criminal justice system
  • Friendly, positive, and professional demeanor
  • Attention to accuracy and detail
  • Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Child Intervention check

Conditions of Employment:

This is a full-time salaried position with typical hours of work on Monday through Friday from 8:15AM – 4:30PM. The ability to be flexible with work hours is required.  All candidates will be obliged to comply with EJHS’s Mandatory Vaccine Mandate, as a condition of employment.

Salary:

The starting salary is $46 000 annually.
