SALARY RANGE: $45,528 – $53,563/year ($23.35-$27.47 hourly)

HOURS: 8:30AM-5:00PM, working 37.5 hours/week

Job Purpose:

The Human Resources Administrator is responsible for providing support to the Senior Manager of Human Resources in all administrative areas including but not limited to: general Human Resource administrative tasks, coordination of staff training, development and orientation. The Human Resources Administrator works closely with the Human Resources Manager, Operations leadership, Administration and Payroll teams to ensure that staff work in an effective, safe, and organizationally efficient environment.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

While working in close collaboration with the Management Team, primary responsibilities will include:

Human Resource Administrative Support

  • Assist in the preparation of employment agreements for hires, transfers and staff changes and ensure accuracy and consistency are maintained.
  • Coordinating and supporting administratively the onboarding and orientation process for New Staff
  • Ensure staff training requirements are kept up to date, achieved within required timelines, and reviewed regularly
  • Work with the Edmonton HR Cluster Group Recruitment Consultant, development and the operations team to define workforce planning needs for BSCS and develop creative developmental and talent management strategies.
  • Assist with other HR and administrative related projects and tasks as assigned.

Operations Support

  • Provide administrative support to the Leadership team at the request of the Human Resources Manager
  • Maintain a positive employee relations environment and build strong relationships and rapport with the administration and operations team, front-line employees and leaders.
  • Conduct site visits as required to understand departmental needs and foster relationship building.
  • Filing of contracts, agreements and maintenance of agency Central Filing systems
  • General tasks required to ensure an effective, safe, and positive work environment 

Qualifications:

Education:

Post-secondary education or certification in Business, Human Resources, Office Administration, Workplace Training and other related fields are an asset. Candidates who are without a degree, but have relevant and related experience will also be considered

Skills, Abilities and Attitudes:

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing, often demanding, sometimes traumatizing environment– with children and adults alike — with interruptions and multiple competing demands
  • Ensuring appropriate boundaries, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Great attention to detail and excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, Power Point)
  • Ability to communicate effectively and have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrates commitment and innovation to their work, initiative and ownership, at times with little direction
  • Able to plan and make decisions in a timely, organized and appropriate manner

Experience:

  • At least 5 years’ experience working in a professional administrative role with at least 2 years’ experience of working at a Human Resources level is preferred
  • Knowledge of and experience working in the non-profit sector is an asset
  • Knowledge and experience of Indigenous culture and language is an asset
  • Criminal Record and Child Intervention checks are required
