Job Purpose:

The Financial Administrator will be responsible for assisting with funder financial reporting, budget data input, central filing, property tax exemption renewals, lease administration, and assist Director of Finance and team with other administrative tasks.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Translate financial information from accounting system to funder report templates- which could be up to 25 different types of templates
  • Input of budget data into accounting system
  • Lease administration to ensure all lease are up to date, compliance of both parties responsibilities is in good standing and assist managers/landlords with admin tasks around lease renewals/negotiations
  • File agency’s funding contracts, vendor contracts, fixed assets files, insurance policies and any other pertinent docs for the agency
  • Process property tax exemption renewals and new applications
  • Other Administrative duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications:

Education: Completion of post-secondary Diploma in Accounting and/or Business Administration

Skills, Abilities and Attitudes:

  • Great attention to detail and excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, ACCPAC A/R, A/P and G/L, Simply Accounting)
  • ADP People @ Work and Pay @ Work for cross training when needed
  • Able to communicate effectively and have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • A highly developed sense of humor
  • Able to work in a stressful environment with tight deadlines

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an accounting role and non-profit/charity accounting experience will be an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Outlook-intermediate level or higher)
  • Good working knowledge in Sage ERP 300
  • Excellent analytical skills to interpret contracts and leases
  • Criminal Record and Child Intervention Checks (results will be reviewed on a case by case basis)

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit at a computer to complete data entry for the majority of the time, be able to walk, stand and lift up to 25 lbs.  Must be able to work with noise and a little bit of dust.
