ABC Head Start is accepting applications for a part time Cook reporting to the Early Learning and Child Care Manager.

Responsibilities:
• To prepare nutritious, whole food, lunches and snacks according to the Canada Food Guide
• Order groceries, adhering to the budget, and accept order at time of delivery
• Follow set weekly menu plans
• Maintain a clean, orderly kitchen and food preparation area according to Health Services standards
• Ensure dishes are done after snack and lunch
• Shop for extra grocery items and supply shopping
• Follow health regulations regarding food preparation and sanitary practice

Qualifications:
• Available to work between 9am and 2pm, Monday to Friday
• Have a strong knowledge base in nutrition
• Previous experience cooking for children
• Physically capable of lifting heavy pots and pans as well as groceries
• Excellent knowledge of Health Services expectations and regulations
• Able to prepare ethnically diverse foods

Requirements:
• Child Development Assistant certification
• Have a current; First aid certificate, Police information check (with vulnerable Sector check), and Intervention record check
• Have the Alberta Health Services Food Safety Certificate
• Fire Extinguisher training
• WHMIS certificate

Compensation: $ 17.00/hr.

Start Date: January 2018
